·         Led all engineering activities for the Americas Region. Responsibilities included writing the technical portion of responses to RFPs, giving customer presentations and providing technical expertise.

Led the Quality Assurance Group in testing the Vision Restoration Therapy Medical Device.

Tested the Motorola CN620 GSM/VoIP mobile phone in the System Test Group.

·         Completed the GPRS certification testing for the European approval of the phone.

·         Tested the GSM/WLAN functionality in the following areas: Call Processing, Browser, Macro Mobility (between GSM and WLAN) and Micro Mobility between Access Points.

Tested software in the Location Services Group for the Siemens GSM/GPRS Wireless Switch.

·         Performed off-line new feature testing (Release GSM 3.0) for Location Services.

·         Performed off-line and on-line regression testing (Release GSM 2.1) for Call Handling, SS7, IN/CAMEL and Location Services. On-line testing performed with the K12 protocol analyzer.

Senior Software Engineer

Designed, coded and tested features for the digit translation and routing functionality on the CopperCom softswitch in the Java programming language on a UNIX platform.

·         Performed off-line and on-line integration testing for the AMWI Voice Mail feature. 

·         Designed, coded and tested the Speed dial feature.

·         Coded and tested Multi-line hunt group, AC/AR, Remote call forwarding activation, and BLVI.

Senior Systems Engineer

Engineered several voice/data access networks, including cable media, wireless access, ATM core and edge, IP, Ethernet, microwave Point-to-Point and TDM voice. Responsible for pre and post sales voice/data and RF network design, implementation of wireless and wireline solutions, network design and implementation, and end-to-end testing.

·         Team lead in the pre-sales broadband access engineering group. Responsibilities included providing detailed network design, equipment lists, and engineering service costs for the response to RFPs.

·         Implemented the Passport 15000 ATM Backbone for Puerto Rico Telecom including the migration of services and end-to-end testing.

·         Worked on the Cable & Wireless Succession CS2000 Voice over IP packet network to migrate their separate data and voice networks onto a single unified packet solution for nine islands in the Caribbean. Responsibilities included traffic engineering, network validation and test plan generation.

·         Implemented the first node of BCI Genesis’ network in Caracas, including the UNIX based network management, RF link budget validation, and the voice and data services for their first customers. 

·         Integration team leader for the Cornerstone voice cable media access network of CTBC in Uberlandia, Brazil. The solution included integrating the Cornerstone CPEs through the customer’s HFC network to the Cornerstone head end and to the Siemens EWSD central office switch via a V5.2 interface.

·         Implemented the Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) deployment for Telefonica, which included one base station with two CPEs at 1km and 4.6km from the base station at 24 GHz. Services at each CPE included Video Conferencing (H.323), local and international TDM voice via PBXs, and Internet/Intranet access.

Software Engineer – Principal Member of Technical Staff - Munich, Germany (1996-1997)

Selected for a two-year ex-pat in Germany to work on the 36190 ATM Broadband Core Switch.

·         Subject matter expert for the Carrier Routing and Digit Manipulation areas of Call Processing. Responsibilities included the design, coding, off-line and on-line testing.

·         Module tested the Digit Processing and Routing, and Billing areas of Call Processing.

 

Software Engineer – Member of Technical Staff - Boca Raton, FL (1992-1995)

Designed, coded and tested software in the Digit Translation and Routing Group for the EWSD Digital Wireline Circuit Switch. Contributed to the CLASS, AIN, SS7 and Centrex areas of Call Processing.

·         Team leader for the Global Title Translation AIN feature. Responsibilities included the overall coordination, and the design, coding, testing of the call processing portion of the feature.

·         Generated and executed the off-line and on-line test plans for the Cellular-PSTN Interconnection feature.

 

NASA – Langley Research Center, Hampton, Virginia                                                                                                                        1990 to 1991

Engineering Co-op

Summer 1991 Developed software to communicate with the flight hardware of the SUNLITE project.

Fall 1990         Designed a hardware sequencer for the Spaceflight Optical Disk Recorder project.

Summer 1990 Designed the hardware interface for a portion of the Spaceflight Optical Disk Controller with a transfer rate of 1.8 gigabits/sec and a capacity of 160 Gigabytes.
